Pregnancy, Postpartum & Pelvic Floor
I am here to support you through pain, leakage, fear, anxiety, and confusion. The right care from the right provider can truly make a difference.
“A weekend certification, personal experience or a large social media presence is not enough education to be able to coach the specific considerations for pregnant and postpartum athletes.” - Brianna Battles
Common ≠ Normal
Intention Now, Intensity Later
Pelvic Floor
Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and tissues of the pelvic floor. This group of muscles plays a vital role in supporting the organs within the pelvis, maintaining continence, and providing stability for the lower back and pelvis. Many factors can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction, including pregnancy, childbirth, aging, obesity, chronic constipation, and certain medical conditions.
Some common issues I treat:
Leakage during activities; Stress or Urge incontinence
Heaviness ‘down there’
Painful intercourse
Pelvic pain
Hip pain
Struggling to return to activities you love: running, jumping, lifting, etc.
Pregnancy
Yes, you can get strong during your pregnancy! Movement through pregnancy can help alleviate pelvic pain, SI joint pain, fatigue, and balance hormones for improved mental health. The specific exercises and programs during this period are designed to help set you up for success in your postpartum recovery.
I want you to feel confident and strong in your body while guiding you through this exciting time. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, birth education, or need guidance on the appropriate exercises for you and your body, I am here to help you feel empowered to make informed decisions every step of the way.
Postpartum
Congratulations!! Now, let’s talk about recovery with confidence. This period can be overwhelming with fear, misinformation, and the challenges of adjusting to your new role as a parent, on top of trying to rediscover your body and sense of self.
From diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, C-section recovery, and scar mobilization to the sheer exhaustion of night feeds (breast or bottle) I am here to help take the guessing out of the game and set you on a path to success. It truly does take a village and I am in your corner.
